“Despite briefly fearing that the rickety bed would collapse under me, I found the small room to be very comfortable. The bathroom, especially, was very clean. I could control the temperature easily and was able to dry my handwashing (important for hikers/pilgrams). [It was a very quiet night, but I could tell noise would be a problem for some.] Breakfast was another experience. I was the only guest that night, and I found the owner's constant lurking unsettling. The offerings were a mixed bag: sad fruit, stale bread/Brötchen, fresh coffee, and two nicely fried eggs. Despite being a really beautiful home, I left realizing I'm not a B&B type; it's an odd mixture of physical intimacy and emotional distance.”
